the perfect movie partner
Wednesday, March 17, 2010last wednesday, a couple of friends in the office decided to watch a movie since we’re not that busy anymore. we reserved a conference room that can fit all of us and viola instant film showing. jel has a lot of downloaded movies in her laptop so we had a lot to choose from. the downside is that we spent a lot of time deciding what movie to watch. we ended up watching did you hear about the morgans. funny film. 
good thing clc brought popcorn. movie + popcorn = happiness! hahaha. anyway, my favorite is Popcornopolis popcorn. sounds like a tongue twister hehe. popcornopolis popcorn. they offer a variety of flavors. and when i say variety, i really mean a wide selection to choose from. all of us in the family have our own favorite flavors. mom likes caramel macadamia. she has a sweet tooth. for dad, it’s sour cream and onion. at first, i thought i was kinda weird. popcorn that’s sour cream flavored but i grew fond of it but not as much as my dad. bro enjoys dark chocolate. he likes the bittersweet taste of it. as for me, i like the cheesiness of cheddar cheese popcorn. wah! just blogging about it makes me crave for it.

Saturday, March 13, 2010i have a friend who says “say wednesday” instead of “say cheese” when taking our pictures. he said that the smile when you say wednesday is more long-lasting and thus looks better in the picture. he’s now living in texas, south austin i think. we chatted online and he mentioned that he is looking for a South Austin Dentist. i think he needs someone accessible to protect his wednesday smile. haha.
come to think of it, i never dreamed of being a dentist when i was young. i think that is the least common answer to the question, what do you want to be when you grow up? it probably has something to do with a child’s fear of the dentist. but i wouldn’t really know, i’m not a psychologist. haha.
i heard from a listerine commercial that the mouth is one of the dirtiest part of the body. yikes! well, more than just gargling listerine, it’s much better to go to the dentist regularly for preventive dental care.
pimp my ride
i used to watch pimp my ride on mtv. i’m amazed at how good they are at transforming a really, really dilapidated car into an ass-kicking ride. i’m not really into pimping my own car. i know how expensive it is. and i think boys are more into that kind of stuff. i only like it clean and as much as possible shiny.
for some reason my car is susceptible to dirt and dust. it’s color black so at the end of the week it almost looks like gray because of all the dust that have accumulated the entire week. haha! i see to it that i wash it every weekend. i’m not bothered about the external dust because i can easily wash it off. i’m more concerned about the dust inside the car. particularly the dirt and small pebbles that find its way on the car floor mats. i usually ask people who take a ride with me to stomp their feet first before they get into the car to dust off dirt in the soles of their shoes. hahaha! OC i know.
internet-savvy kids
Friday, March 12, 2010gone are the days when kids play outdoor games with their friends in the neighborhood. now, they hang out with their friends online. they even make friends online. that’s actually pretty scary. you don’t know who they can meet and what kind of influence they are to the kids.
i have a nephew and a niece who are already exposed to the internet. sometimes it’s impressive how much they learn from what they read through the net. but i also can’t help but worry if they should already know the things that they pick up from the net at a pretty young age. they can surf and surf and surf and they might stumble upon a website that has adult content. they wouldn’t even know that they shouldn’t be exposed to that kind of knowledge yet. their parents are aware of the dangers of the internet and they are actually looking for an Internet Safety Software to monitor the internet activities of their kids. they want to ensure that are safe while online. you can never be complacent about the kind of information that your child is exposed to. not to mention that there are people online who can harm your kids even virtually.

health is wealth
this statement has been used and said over and over that we have already taken it for granted. but when faced with an illness, that is the only time we’d realize how important it is to take care of our health. now, i guess taking care of our health not only involves eating the right kinds of food and having enough rest. it also includes having a dependable health insurance. in the company where i work, we have a good health insurance coverage but not all companies provide health insurance to their employees. i know a lot of people who do not have health insurance and end up unprepared when it’s time to pay their hospital bills.
what’s good is that there are a lot of good health insurance companies. if you are in Cincinnati, there’s a Cincinnati Health Insurance you can go to. if you’re in Columbus, there’s a Columbus Health Insurance accessible to you. and if you’re in Cleveland, there’s Cleveland Health Insurance. there’s actually no excuse anymore to not having yourself covered.

Thursday, March 11, 2010it’s difficult to find a good Dentist, Cedar Park TX. i used to wear braces but the clinic is too far from where i live so i always missed appointments. if only there is a dentist directory, i could have gotten a dentist near my house. for example, if you live in Cedar Park TX it would be easier to find a dentist in that area if there is such a directory.
i think my last visit to the dentist was late last year when i had one of my molars removed. that was not a good experience. i wanted to have a root canal but she does not perform that kind of procedure so i decided to have my tooth extracted instead to end my suffering. it was such a hassle.
anyway, i think it’s time for me to have a prophylaxis. how about you? when was the last time you had your teeth cleaned?
el nino!
once a week we have a work from home schedule. so instead of going to the office, we can just do our work in our pajamas without leaving our beds. haha! 
however, today instead of working from home, i chose to go to the office. it’s already summer and i figured it would be better to go the office because i don’t want to feel the summer hear. but to my surprise, there’s no AC in the entire building because of a leak in the condenser line. *sigh* i can really feel the el nino heat!
just a few months ago, we were bombarded by storm after storm. a lot of people lost their homes because of the flood. others were luckier in a way since they still had their homes. problem was it was already damaged by water. i heard stories of how difficult it is to restore their homes. these people really needed the help of an Austin Water Damage Restoration company.
thankfully we were not affected by the floods. i hope the victims are fully recovered now.
current addiction: lie to me
Tuesday, February 23, 2010i am glued to lie to me ever since i catched one episode on fox channel. at first, it was only the title that got my attention. a few episodes and i’m addicted. i bought the dvd which unfortunately was not dependable. good thing that one of my officemates had copies of seasons 1 and 2. wohoo! so far i have finished 6 episodes more to go. i’m so excited. haha.
ghost story
Tuesday, February 16, 2010i’m the kind of person who stays out of any topic related to ghosts. i’m duwag and i have a malikot imagination which becomes a deadly combination when it comes to supernatural topics. to preserve my sanity and more importantly so i can close my eyes when i take a bath (haha!), i do not engage in any horror topics, movies, conversations, etc.
suprisingly, i was able to read her fearful symmetry from cover to cover. this book was also written by the author of time traveler’s wife. it’s not bad but it’s not good either. i liked time traveler’s wife more.
anyway, i just wanted to track how many books i’m going to read this year. this is book #1 for 2010.
