Everything was wrong, and she had no way of putting things right - that gave her a sense of complete powerlessness. (Veronika Decides to Die)

special non-working holiday: feb. 25

Monday, February 18, 2008

the president has issued proclamation no. 1462 declaring monday, feb. 25, as a special non-working holiday in observance of the 22nd anniversary of the edsa people power revolution.

personally, i think this hoilday is useless but a holiday is still a holiday.  who wouldn’t want a long weekend!? :) don’t have to go to work, yipee!

just for kicks

to break the monotony, i try to do something interesting or something that i’ve never done before at least once a month.  i’ve finally thought of a name for this activity, i’m calling it "just for kicks". :) yey!

for this month’s just for kicks, i got my ear pierced and i signed up for basic mandarin class.

i’ve wanted to have an extra piercing since college, hindi ko lang talaga tinutuloy even if i have clearance from my mom.  so last saturday, i finally decided to proceed with the plan.  i got a bit scared because i thought it was going to be painful and i’m going to bleed all over the place.  sos, wala naman palang kasakit-sakit!  there’s just a bit of burning sensation for a few minutes.

mandarin has also started.  i’m really excited to learn to speak chinese.  according to our teacher, it sounds more credible daw if we say i’m studying pudong hua (pronounced as putong hwa). hehe.  :)

the class is for three hours so it was really a good decision to sit beside this guy classmate.  not because he’s attractive (although i’m not saying that he’s not) but because he is semi-bibo.  semi-bibo is good.  it means he’s not too active ala-hermione granger but he’s also not papatay-patay in class.  i have observed that the girls in the class don’t talk that much.  mapapanis ang laway ko kung nakaupo ako sa tabi nila.
