dumbledore is gay!

Tuesday, October 23, 2007

wow dumbledore is gay!?  i caught this news about J.K. Rowling's surprising revelation in Saksi last night.  she read passages in the seventh book to prove that dumbledore is gay.  in fact, she said that dumbledore fell in love with grindelwand, whom dumbedore defeated in a wand fight.  i'm not sure if wand fight is the right term.  anyway, i never had the slightest idea that the great wizard is gay.

i think this smells a little fishy.  is j.k. rowkling making this all up to revive people's curiousity?  hay…  i don't have an issue about dumbledore's gayness but if the rowling just invented this fact all of a sudden, hay naku!

i’m inspired! :)

Monday, October 22, 2007

i hope i can make lots of moolah like Warren Buffet.  i wish i had half of his brilliance.

i got this from an email:

There was a one hour interview on CNBC with Warren Buffet, the second richest man who has donated $31 billion to charity. Here are some very interesting aspects of his life:

1. He bought his first share at age 11 and he now regrets that he started too late!  (i'm 24 and i'm just about to invest in the stock market.  geez, and he thinks 11 is late!)
2. He bought a small farm at age 14 with savings from delivering newspapers.
3. He still lives in the same small 3-bedroom house in mid-town Omaha, which he bought after he got married 50 years ago. He says that he has everything he needs in that house. His house does not have a wall or a fence.
4. He drives his own car everywhere and does not have a driver or security people round him.
5. He never travels by private jet, although he owns the world's largest private jet company.
6. His company, Berkshire Hathaway, owns 63 companies. He writes only one letter each year to the CEOs of these companies, giving them goals for the year. He never holds meetings or calls them on a regular basis. He has given his CEO's only two rules. Rule number 1: do not lose any of your share holder's money. Rule number 2: Do not forget rule number 1.
7. He does not socialize with the high society crowd. His past time after he gets home is to make himself some pop corn and watch Television. (at least we have one thing in common. haha.)
8. Bill Gates, the world's richest man met him for the first time only 5 years ago. Bill Gates did not think he had anything in common with Warren Buffet. So he had scheduled his meeting only for half hour. But when Gates met him, the meeting lasted for ten hours and Bill Gates became a devotee of Warren Buffet.
9. Warren Buffet does not carry a cell phone, nor has a computer on his desk. (i guess when you're that rich and that successful you really don't have to worry about people not being able to contact you.  if they need you, they will find a way to get to you.)

His advice to young people: Stay away from credit cards and invest in yourself and remember:
A. Money doesn't create man but it is the man who created money.
B. Live your life as simple as you are.
C. Don't do what others say, just listen, but do what you feel good.
D. Don't go on brand name; just wear those things in which u feel comfortable.
E. Don't waste your money on unnecessary things; just spend on them who really it need rather.
F. After all it's your life then why give chance to others to rule our life.

i'm amazed and inspired. :D

earning thru blogging

Sunday, October 21, 2007

i'm all about making more money these days.  i'm kinda sick of budgeting my income.  i have a growing present and forecasted financial needs and my current resources are insufficient to finance my needs.  thus, the solution is to make money out of money.  in my previous post i wrote about investing money in financial instruments.  rambling virus's very informative post on Investing 101 was really helpful.  but while i'm still learning more about stocks and other options (i really need to study this closely since i don't have unlimited resources), i'm looking at online ways of earning money.

i have been frequenting several blogs lately that are making money just by blogging.  this option involves no risk at all but of course returns would probably be just low.  but hey, low return is still a return.  am i starting to sound desperate to earn additional cash?! haha. :D

i signed up for google adsense but probably bvecause a lot of people are into adsense already, it's easy to create an account but difficult to log into your account.  when google adsense was still relatively new, an officemate told me about it but i did not take advantage of it right away.  sayang!  anyway, a lot of similar rakets are out there so i'll just try my luck on them.  i wonder if they work.  so if i get approved on this online options to make money, i'll be writing sponsored posts in the future.

my old job

Monday, October 15, 2007

i miss my old job. L

numero uno, i miss how generous the senate is in giving monthly bonuses.  I saved a good amount of money because of the bonuses. J

i miss the varied reactions i get from people when i tell them that I work for miriam santiago.  she is an extraordinary individual and no matter how mentally deranged she appears to be there is a weird sense of pride in being associated with her.  i know that she’s way, way, way more intelligent than people who say she’s lukring.

i miss how flexible work hours can be.

i miss the very relaxed office attire.  i used to come to the office wearing jeans and shirt except on session duties.

and above all, i miss the people I’ve worked with.  i was not fond of them from mondays to fridays but I like them in general.  i don’t recall having ka-plastikan issues with them.  i like the fact that they are serious with work but they know how to have fun.

i am missing a lot since i took this ‘effin new job.  but i need to expand my horizons.  i can’t stay in my comfort zone for so long.  i have grown so much and matured a lot because of my senate stint but there is still so much to explore.

taking risks

Friday, October 12, 2007

i want things to be always stable and within my control.  i remember writing in my mba application form, something about being averse to risks and hopefully changing that with the help of mba.  well i'm starting to feel that mba is starting to influence how i view risks.  lately, i have been putting a lot of thought on possible business opportunities and other financial investments.  i am really losing a lot of opportunity costs in letting my savings sleep at the bank.
of course, investing in anything entails risks.  risk is two-faced.  it entails incurring losses but it can also lead into gaining something that you didn't expect.  i think i'm ready now.  i better start taking risks while i'm still young, i have more years to recover my potential losses.  yikes! just the mere thought of "potential" losses makes me nervous but what the hell, nothing will happen if i keep on being a chicken.

the opportunitites to earn are just lying around waiting to be explored.  i won't be rich by being a corporate slave.  i have to take matters into my own hands.  i wanna be rich and i'd like to believe that i will be. :D

smitten by stardust

Thursday, October 11, 2007

stardust is stellar! :D   i highly recommend this movie.  it's worth every penny you spend on a movie ticket.  although i got to watch it for free courtesy of accenture's movie night freebie.  :)

anyway, the movie can take you on an enchanting adventure.  i found it really entertaining - smiles (many), giggles (moderate), laughing hard (few).  there are instances when i got so excited with the fight scenes or sword fights err whatchamallit.  romantic scenes are not too mushy.  basta a lot of things happened in the movie for 2hours so it's really worth every penny.

initially, i thought the movie was an old movie because i haven't seen any trailer, poster, or any form of movie promotion.  for lack of a better thing to do on a wednesday night, i decided to sign up anyway and i'm so glad i did.  first movie night, success! :D

This love sick thing
I like serious relationships and a girl like me dont stay single for long
Cuz everytime a boyfriend and I break up
My world is crushed and I'm all alone
The love bug crawls right back up and bites me and I'm back

naks! when will the love bug bite me? haha! :D

Cubao Expo

Saturday, October 6, 2007

too bad I wasn't able to go to the Cubao Expo.  a lot of online sellers were joining the bazaar and i really wanted to see their stuff.  i'm quite hesitant to buy things online.  i want to see the items that i'm interested to buy before i spend my hard earned money.  haha.  kelan ba kasi ako yayaman!  anyway, i'll probably go this saturday instead.  The bazaar is running for three more saturdays, October 13, 20, and 27 @ 4pm - 12mn.

i'm also interested to know if joining bazzars is a good business venture.  have to activate my entrepreneurial skills (wish ko lang meron).  hehe.  :)

losing custody

Tuesday, October 2, 2007

i initially felt bad when i first heard the news that britney spears lost custody of her kids.  i'm not a fan but i can't help but feel sorry for her. she's  been running into a lot of misfortunes/misadventures ever since she married fed-ex.  surprisingly, she's super unaffectedkaloka!  or probably, she's just putting on a brave face but she's wallowing in misery.
