zte broadband deal
Monday, September 24, 2007i'm amazed that attending class seems to be doing me good lately, pwera usog. i don't wait impatiently anymore for the class to end. i hope this continues for three more years. :)
anyway, cash flows were discussed in our financial management class. background: a company's outflow and inflow of cash can be grouped into operating activites, investing activities, and financing avtivities.
in relation to the anomalous zte broadband deal which is currently being investigated in the senate, it should be brought up that it should be the investment which dictates the financing activities and not the other way around. the reason being cited by government officials for this broadband deal is that the money came from china and thus we are investing this money with a chinese firm. nge!
just google it!
Wednesday, September 19, 2007lately i have been using the define function of google so much. nasawa na ako sa shift+F7. the define function of google is more informative. aside from synonyms, it gives you various definitions and even citations. just type define+colon+space+the word you want to define and press enter.
example: define: grace and then a list of all definitions for grace will appear. galing tlga ng google.
everything and anything can be found using this search engine. you can even use it as a tool to spy on people. sa google walang imposible. :)

no pressure
Friday, September 14, 2007what do i do first thing in the morning when i don't have anything urgent at my desk, blog of course!
when i can, i usually check all the blogs that i have linked. i have more blogs that i have grown fond of and will probably write about them later.
hopefully i'll have a relaxed day today.
BAD NEWS: i just got my grade in quanti and it sucks! big time! i will forever hate linear programming. my second exam was okay, i thought it would be enough to make up for my first exam. i almost flunked the first exam because of linear programming.
i was so tamad to take the optional 3rd exam because i dreaded linear programming.
Lesson learned: study next time. haha.
never expect all your professors in graduate school to be generous.
bibo kid
Thursday, September 13, 2007being "bibo" has its limits. it's irritating when pa-bibo people ask so many questions just for the sake of asking them. okay, you want to let everone know that you used your neurons and thought of something. but betcha by golly wow, you don't have to ask every single question nor raise every single issue that you had in mind.
can't you just resolve issues on your own? you don't have to get everyone involved you know?
gay friendships
Saturday, September 8, 2007when will and grace was still on, i love to watch this show. more than being entertained by the show, i love it because the lead character has the same name as mine. i wish i had someone like will. i only have one really close gay friend but we have been apart ever since we graduated from high school. we still talk every once in a while although i wish we're still as close as before.
i envy girls who have gay bestfriends. i think a girl and gay duo is a perfect combination. it seems that when you have a gay friend you no longer need to have other friends. gay men are always funny and bubbly. it's so much fun to talk with them. i find the anghang in their dila so refreshing. they can say anything they want and they can get away with it. the downside i guess is when they don't like you. they can really be bitches.
i wish i had someone like will right now.
broken links :(
Monday, September 3, 2007something's wrong with my links. they are linked to my own blog.
wah! i was kinda irritated at first but what can i do? i had to hyperlink everything again however i can't find louie and john's urls. i have been out of the i.ph world for so long, i don't know their urls anymore. i tried to search for them at google but my efforts were in vain. i research for a living so i should be able to find their blogs one way or another.
guys if ever you stumble into my blog again. please leave your urls.
EDIT: i found their links after all
my links are now perfectly workin'!
trip to trinoma
Thursday, August 30, 2007our team went to trinoma this afternoon. it was a fiscal year-end team building kinda thing. the original plan was to have a massage at the spa but with a budget of P850 per person, it wasn't practical. we can only get a massage with no budget for food. of course, nobody wants to say it directly but i'm sure nobody wants to spend their own money for a team buidling thingy. kuripot din kayo no aminin niyo na. haha.
it was my first time to visit trinoma. nakadikit pala siya sa mrt mismo. no hassle at all. from the mrt, trinoma na agad. i was kinda surprised that there are a lot of stores already. the stores were very spacious and the few ones that i saw looked cute and trendy. i particularly liked starbucks at the top floor near the cinema area. since it is actually outside the mall, it caters mostly to smokers. mejo zen ung feel ng area na to. i should have taken a picture, i'm not very good with describing in detail.
we had lunch at la mesa grill. i think sen. pangilinan is one of the owners of this restaurant. i highly recommend their sisig rice and stuffed squid.
after lunch, we watched the invasion starring nicole kidman and daniel craig. surprisingly, i enjoyed the movie despite the alien theme and the gasgas plan to take over mankind. kadiri ang method to spread the virus; they puke at people to infect them. kadiri sobra pero nagustuhan ko pa din. haha! maybe part of the reason why i enjoyed it was because i was so comfortable with my seat. naka-lazy boy kami. :)
i initially thought that i wouldn't enjoy this team buiding thingy but it's good that i did.
Free at last!
Wednesday, August 29, 2007exams are over! finally! i don't intend to take any optional 3rd exam. ideally, i should so i can improve my grades. however i don't think i would be getting a better grade by taking another exam. if i did not do well in the finals then it's a 100% probability that i won't do any better in the 3rd exam. besides i'm so sick of studying. i just want to watch tv.
before i really thought that i wanted to take up MBA. i felt that there is a need for it. i was thinking that a master's degree can boost my career. the original plan was to study while working for the senator (btw, this is her official friendster account.) and once i have a master's degree, apply for a higher ranking job. well, i thought that with an MBA, i would be better qualified to be somewhere but below the corporate ladder. but then tiger woods came and all of a sudden i felt that i don't need it. i just have to be a corporate slave (read: earn an exceeds expectations mark in performance evaluations) and i can conquer the corporate world. MBA is not part of the exceeds expectations thingy. i don't think they put a premium in a master's degree. anyway, i'll reserve the exceeds expectations dilemma in another entry.
do i want to be in this company forever? i don't know. for now, i like what i see. but that doesn't mean that i should focus only on the here and the now. who knows a better opportunity will come along (probably a career in ADB, how i wish! haha) and an MBA would come in handy.
am i studying just for credential's sake? yes. it's really unfortunate that i'm studying not for intellectual progress but for the sake of a better job. i remember a friend who once told me that earning a master's degree teaches us to be slaves. those with master's degrees are better slaves than others. i definitely agree.
so for now, with the hopes of being a corporate leader someday, i just have to endure three years of MBA studies.
I missed i.ph!
Monday, August 6, 2007After four months of hibernation, I'm finally back!
Why on earth are question marks appearing instead of spaces?! I tried to edit the about me panel and question marks are everywhere.
